Randomness

I had the camera out one day for some reason or another and Aiden plopped down right in front of me saying, "Cheese!!". Well here he is just as cute as can be!

I make smoothies sometimes to go with our dinner. Josh loves them and Aiden is learning to as well. I usually serve them with straws but we were out....can you tell? Josh loves them with or without a straw.

Brandon loves peas and we planted 2 1/3 long rows of them in our garden. (2 1/4 rows are sugar snap and the other row are shell peas.) From our first picking, we obviously should have picked sooner, I podded this 8 c. tupperware full of peas. Wow! It took a LONG time. I told Brandon I hated picking peas but would shell them.....I think he got the better end of the deal. (FYI the second time he picked I only had 6 c. of shelled peas). They will be great this winter!!

Indiana Josh

One Saturday, about two months ago, Josh was having a serious melt down. Brandon finally got him to calm down by telling Josh an Indiana Jones story. Since then he has been hooked!! Well, of course, Brandon has really made Indiana Jones fun. He set up an "adventure" in our front living room and decked Josh out in his vest and fedora. It all began with Indiana Josh and his sidekick Aiden going for a ride in their airplane.

There were passageways that Indiana Josh used special tokens to unlock the gate.

There were tunnels with vegetation growing from the ceilings that Indiana Josh had to navigate with his trusty flashlight.

There were puzzels for Indiana Josh to solve that revealed the secret token allowing him to continue.

And there was a golden idol (that Brandon and Josh had made together) for Indiana Josh to retrieve.

Josh LOVED it! Brandon is a lot more creative than I am (as I could never have come up with this) and the boys played in the adventure all afternoon. We were able to find Josh an Indiana Jones play set in Disneyland so now he can sport an updated Indiana Josh fedora.

I guess our next step is for Josh to grow 4 1/2 more inches so he can ride the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland. So far he has only been able to "ride" the ride via recordings on the internet. I think it will be a while!
